Product Applications:
It is a raw material
for organic synthesis. It is used to make 1,3,5-Benzene
Tricarboxylic Acid, antioxidant, ethoxyline resin solidifying
agent, polyester resin stabilizer, and alkide resin
plasticizer. It is used to produce 2,4,6-trimethyl
benzene for making such dyes as active cobalt
blue and K-3R.
Manufacture method: Distill
heavy aromatic hydrocarbons to obtain pseudocumene.
At the same time, isomerize highly pure 1,2,4-Trimethyl
Benzene to 1,3,5-trimethyl benzene. Then fraction distillation
is performed to isolate1,3,5-trimethyl benzene from
the reaction oil.
Toxicity and protection:
Its toxicity is similar to dimethylbenzene. It irritates
the nose and the throat. The highest permitted concentration
in air is 125mg/m3. The operation spot should
be well ventilated and the operators should wear protection
masks.
Packaging, storage and
transportation: Fire and insolation should be avoided
during storage. It should be separated from oxidants.
It should be handled with care to avoid breaking the
package. Securely sealed iron barrel no thinner than
1.2mm should be used to pack the product and each barrel
should not exceed 200kg. If it is packed into plastic
barrels or glass bottles, securely seal the containers
before put them into wood cases, which should be securely
lined inside with inflammable materials and tightly
tied outside with iron wires or iron sheets. Each case
should not exceed 50kg and be marked with "flammable".
